The Bible says “Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof…” (Eccl.7:8) and the accomplishment of a desire is a tree of life (Pro.l3:12b). On this note, I say a hearty congratulations to you all on this glorious day of your graduation from the Mountain Top Theological Seminary (MTTS) – a top notched Citadel of Theological Education and Cutting-edge Spiritual Formation.
Apparently, it is a known feet that people go for ministerial training for different reasons: some go there to secure their stomach infrastructure, thus, making their belly their god. Some go there for ego-boosting charade. Some go because they inordinately desire the veneration of men. Others go because they erroneously believe that will help them obtain a solid license for financial security. Others also go for carnal exaltation and not for spiritual transformation, forgetting the timely warning of the Holy Spirit through the pen of Apostle Paul “… knowledge puffeth up… And if any man thinks that he knoweth anything, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know (1 Cor.8: l-2).
Meanwhile, very few go for spiritual training with a humble heart to learn under the inspiration and power of the Holy Spirit with the aim of becoming mighty instruments in the Hand of God.
And then, others who are title-crazy go there to earn a Title -Apostle; Prophet; Pastor; Reverend; Evangelist etc.
However, my passionate appeal to you all is that having spent reasonable number of years in this School investing into your ministerial destiny, you must of necessity go with the pungent understanding that Men of title are of no significant relevance to God’s End times agenda but only Men with the Mantle are fit for His purpose in every generation.
Therefore, pursue the Mantle and not the title. If you want to remain relevant in the ministry; you desire to make a full proof of your ministry; if you are panting after making global impact and becoming a durable instrument in the Hand of your Maker, then pursue the Mantle – that is, the power of the Holy Spirit and leave Title alone.
Evidently, there are lots of men with lofty and resonant titles who are nothing but empty barrels. Please, pursue the power of the Spirit so that you can fully and effectively occupy till the Master, our Lord Jesus Christ returns.
May the Lord go with you and prosper you in all your future endeavors in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (Amen).
